The Religion Movie

The East Coast premiere of “The Religion Move” is at the Somerville Theatre on June 24th at 7:30 pm.

The film is driven by LGBTQ perspectives on religion & faith, as well as moving testimonies by an Iranian cellist, Passamaquoddy, Christian, Islamic, Judaic, Palestinian, Hindu, Buddhist, LGBTQ+ & other witnesses to religion & theocracy.

Al Kryszak is a filmmaker & composer working in various locations, based in north coastal Maine, teaching at University of Maine & Unity College. Film premieres include The Hague Global Cinemafest, Sweden Film Awards, Docs Without Borders, The Amsterdam World Canvas, Toronto Short Film Festival, The Swiss Screenwriting & Cinematic Summit & Cinema Carnival in Pisa, Spring 2024.

Additional Films on PBS include a doc on the “Homeless, the Hungry & the Helpers”, along with 4 other doc films where Boston Globe film critic Peter Keough wrote of “Privacy & the Power of Secrets”: “Artful & engaging, it’s the way a movie like this should be made” (4- 24-21).
