We continue our David Lean epics with Doctor Zhivago in 35mm.
Omar Sharif and Julie Christie star as illicit lovers fight to stay together during the turbulent years of the Russian Revolution.
The film is based on Boris Pasternak’s 1957 novel of the same name and is the second of three films teaming David Lean with playwright Robert Bolt. Bolt had previously saved the Lawrence of Arabia (1962) script. Their third collaboration would be Ryan’s Daughter (1970), starring Bolt’s wife, Sarah Miles.
