Halloween Hullabaloo 5

Halloween Hullabaloo 5 – Still Alive!

Curated by guest programmer Julia Marchese

I’m thrilled to be selecting some more Halloween-tastic fright flicks for you all to groove upon this year at the Somerville! Come join your fellow film fiends, ghouls & goblins and enjoy these films on the big screen with an audience – nothing could be better!

October 27 – The Omen

Directed by Richard Donner & starring heavy hitters Gregory Peck, Lee Remick, David Warner & Billie Whitelaw, 1976’s The Omen takes its scares seriously – you should too! A classic for a reason!

October 28 – Ghostbusters (70mm) with Re-Animator (35mm)

You may have seen Ivan Reitman’s 1984 smash hit, but if you haven’t seen it in a cinema, you haven’t really seen it! Fun, gooey, silly and slimey, it’s fun for the whole fam!

Stuart Gordon came crashing onto the horror cinema scene 40 years ago with 1985’s Re-Animator, a gory, kinky twist on a HP Lovecraft story. You GOTTA see this one with an audience and hear those cries of joyous disgust we know and love!

October 29 – 35mm double feature: Witches of Eastwick & Wolf

A double beastly Jack Nicolson and stunning Michelle Pfeiffer to entrance you with warlocks, witches, devils and werewolves to celebrate your spooky season!

October 30 – 35mm double feature: Copycat & The Silence of the Lambs

These films are perfect back to back, with serial killer hunting, smart as a whip agents and some seriously disturbing scenes, these’ll get your pre-Halloween fright night engines running!
